For The Future

The world has seen the effects of burning black gold and realized that for us to preserve the beauty that we were gifted, we must move away from our reliance of it. Oil is limited, pollutes the air we breathe, and yet has been instrumental for our development. We must transition away from it with grace.

Large power plants let us generate electricity very efficiently, and now, very cheaply. There is a lot to go around, and with the rise of solar and wind, the air is kept clean. The automotive industry has already begun the transition, using hybrid designs and fully-battery-powered vehicles.

Could this work for the open sea?

Batteries Aren’t Enough

The energy density of batteries are extremely low, and limit your range significantly, nowhere even close to fossil fuels.

Storing electrical energy as higher-density fuel, however, means you can have your cake and eat it too.

Why Aluminium?

Aluminium has several advantages over its competitors, such as electrofuels like Hydrogen and Ammonia, or even biofuels.

Less Fuel, More Power

Aluminium has higher mass and volumetric energy density than alternatives like Hydrogen and Ammonia. This leaves more weight and space on your vessel for other things. Travel farther and in style.

Keep the Lights On

Unlike Hydrogen, which needs energy to power complex systems to keep it cool and pressurized, Aluminium will happily sit in a tank in standard conditions, saving you power for heating, cooling, lighting, and fun.

Relax and Smell The Air

Ammonia is famously explosive, needs to be kept dry, and unpleasant for the senses. A terrible combo when you’re on the water. Aluminium is stable, doesn’t care about humidity, and won’t ruin your experience of the ocean air.

Sidestep the Smoke

Biofuels pump carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, and photosynthesis is only about 2% efficient. Aluminium skips it entirely.

The Responsible Choice

The Aluminium fuel can be completely recycled from the stored Aluminium oxide using green electricity. No extra mining required.

Aluminium Oxide is processed back into Aluminium using efficient and reliable industrial methods using carbon-free energy.

Aluminium is burned as fuel in the vessel, and the Aluminium Oxide produced is carried to port instead of polluting the environment.
